Drawing reference or influence from Russian Constructivism, John Nixon, 1949-2020, paid homage to simplicity and the everyday materials and methodology of the labourer or the unskilled. Using materials now symbolically associated with the Great Depression and interwar era of the 20th Century, including hessian, silver frost paint, wheat, tools and vessels.
